Level 2 home charging
EV Charger Installation Caledonia
Wake up to a charged car with a Level 2 charger on its own circuit, checked against your panel's capacity.
Charging at home makes EV life easy
A Level 2 charger adds roughly 30 to 50 km of range per hour, so most EVs fill up overnight. It runs on a dedicated 240-volt circuit, usually 40 to 60 amps, which means your panel and service need room for it.
We check your panel's capacity before anything else. If there's room, the install is simple. If there isn't, a load management device or a panel upgrade solves it.
What the install includes
Load calculation
We confirm the charger won't overload your service.
Dedicated circuit
A new 240-volt circuit with the right breaker and wire for your charger.
Garage or driveway
Indoor garage mounts or weather-rated outdoor installs.
Permit and inspection
Completed under an ESA permit and inspected.

Hardwired, plug-in or smart?
Hardwired
Connected straight to the circuit. Usually charges faster and suits outdoor installs.
Plug-in
Uses a 240-volt outlet, so it moves with you. Often a lower charging rate.
Smart features
Schedule charging for off-peak hours, and some models share capacity with other loads.
Ontario doesn't currently offer a rebate for home Level 2 chargers, so it pays to size the circuit for your next vehicle too.
How Much Does EV Charger Installation Cost?
Installing a Level 2 charger typically costs about $1,000 to $2,500 when the panel has room, not including the charger. Longer wire runs and outdoor mounts add cost. If you need a 200-amp upgrade first, budget roughly another $2,000 to $4,500.
EV Charger Installation questions
Will I need a panel upgrade?
Not always. The load calculation tells us, and a load management device can sometimes avoid one.
Can you install a charger I already bought?
Yes, if it's certified for use in Canada.
How long does it take?
Most installs take part of a day once the permit is in place.
Can the charger be mounted outside?
Yes, using an outdoor-rated charger and weatherproof wiring.
