Exterior lighting
Outdoor Lighting Caledonia
Light up entrances, driveways, gardens and soffits with weather-rated outdoor lighting on timers or sensors.
Exterior lighting that handles the weather
Well-placed outdoor lights make steps, driveways and doorways safer at night and make the house look its best. They also face rain, snow and repeated freezing and thawing, so every fixture, box and connection needs a wet-location rating.
We wire standard 120-volt exterior fixtures, recessed soffit lights and low-voltage landscape systems, and we can put them on timers, dusk-to-dawn sensors or motion detectors.
Outdoor lighting options
Soffit lights
Recessed lights in the eaves that wash light down the front of the house.
Path and garden lights
Low-voltage fixtures along walkways, beds and trees, run from a transformer.
Motion floodlights
Bright, sensor-triggered lights for driveways, side yards and back entrances.
Door and garage lights
New or replacement fixtures by entrances and garage doors.
Decks and patios
Step lights, post caps and weatherproof outlets for outdoor seating areas.

How Much Does Outdoor Lighting Cost?
The price depends on the number of fixtures, the length of the wire runs, whether any trenching is involved and which controls you want. Replacing two or three fixtures is a small job, while a full landscape layout is a bigger one, so we quote once we've seen the yard.
Outdoor Lighting questions
Can the lights come on automatically?
Yes. Timers, dusk-to-dawn photocells and smart switches can all control them.
Is low-voltage lighting better for gardens?
It's safer to dig around and easy to move, though the transformer still needs a proper outdoor outlet.
Can you add an outdoor outlet at the same time?
Yes. We install weatherproof GFCI outlets for decks, patios and holiday lights.
Can outdoor lights be installed in winter?
Most fixtures, yes. Landscape lights that need trenching are easier once the ground thaws.
